Two lucky punters , one in Florida and one in Maryland are smiling ( and probably double checking their tickets ) this morning as Lottery organisers inform us that the $400 million Mega Millions Lottery jackpot was won last night with two winning tickets  , one purchased in Florida , the other in Maryland.

The winning numbers from Tuesday’s draw were  11-19-24-33-51 with a Megaball of 7

The jackpot was the sixth largest lottery prize in U.S. history and the third highest in the Megamillions game.

The lucky winning tickets were purchased in Merritt Island ,Florida and Charles County, Maryland  – meanwhile disappointed Lottery players in LottoPlan HQ  in Swindon , Wiltshire , England were thinking ” ah well, there’s always the Euromillions on Friday night…… ” !

News reaches Lottoplan HQ from across the pond that once again the Mega Millions jackpot is reaching very interesting levels . The estimated jackpot for the draw on Tuesday 18th March 2014 is $400 million , with a cash option of $224 million.

The $400 million estimated jackpot is the third largest jackpot in the Mega Millions game’s history – the record being set at $656 million in March 2012 followed by the second highest $648 million in December 2013.
