With the excitement generated by an estimated £138 million  Euromillions Jackpot draw on Tuesday 13th September the Lottery Operator Camelot has commissioned a study of “millionaire hotspots” where they have mapped the geographic locations of seven figure jackpot winners since the game began in 1994 .

The ” Lucky Lotto ” areas ? – two areas came out as clear winners  , the North East of England and Wales .

The ” scores on the doors ” are as follows :

Wales – 179 millionaires , one person in 14,502 created in the last 16 years

North East England – 164 millionaires, one person in 14,211 created in the last 16 years

Lagging behind in third place was Yorkshire with only 272 millionaires in the same period and bottom of the table was Northern Ireland with only 53 millionaires in the same period.

Tomorrow night’s estimated £138 million Lotto jackpot is the fifth biggest jackpot ever offered in the UK – no doubt the residents of Wales and North East England are on standby !

For the rest of us  , well – one in four major wins go to a Lottery Syndicate , perhaps now would be a good time to join one !
